Fluff still needs a tiny problem
Pure sweetness gets flat fast. The best fluff has a harmless obstacle — a scarf that went wrong, a surprise that nearly leaks — so the characters have something to do while they are being soft.
End on a small change: a confession, a new habit, a joke that becomes theirs.

Questions writers ask
What is fluff in fanfiction?
Fluff is light, warm, feel-good writing with little or no conflict. It is one of the most-used tags on AO3.
Do fluff prompts have to be romantic?
No. Every prompt here works as a friendship (gen) fic as well; just change the framing.
How long should a fluff fic be?
Most fluff one-shots are 500–3,000 words. A single scene with one small problem and a warm ending is enough.
