Privacy
Short version: no accounts, no stored prompts, and your saved work never leaves your browser.
No accounts
FanficCraft has no sign-up, login or user database.
AI generations
When you press an AI button, the text you entered (fandom, characters, prompt) is sent to our server and passed through Vercel AI Gateway to a language model to write the reply. FanficCraft does not save prompts or results. Your IP address is held briefly in server memory only to enforce the fair-use limit of 20 AI requests per 10 minutes. Please don't put personal information about real people in prompts.
Stored in your browser
These are kept in your browser's local storage, on your device only:
- Your Library — anything you press Save on.
- AO3 formatter draft — so a refresh doesn't lose your chapter.
A prompt you send from one tool to the story generator is passed via session storage and deleted as soon as it's read.
Analytics
We use Ahrefs Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It is cookieless and doesn't build personal profiles.
Hosting
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs for security and reliability.
Fandom
FanficCraft is an independent fan tool. It is not affiliated with the Archive of Our Own, the Organization for Transformative Works, or any rights holder.
